Jesus. Joy. Community. Mission.

We're currently exploring the letter to the Colossians, in a series titled, Jesus Above All. The supremacy and centrality and worthiness of Jesus is the mega-theme of this wonderful New Testament epistle. The Apostle Paul wants these believers in Colossae to see that every area of their life — their praying, their doctrine, their identity, their pursuit of holiness, their families, their work, their mission, and their ministry — all flow from Jesus being their defining centre, above everything else in this world. As the Apostle Paul writes in Colossians 1:18, “so that He might come to have first place in everything.”

And that our prayerful hope as we explore this book over the next 12 weeks: that Jesus would be the centre of every single area of our lives. That we would see nothing in our lives as “off limits” to Him. That we would trust Him and love Him above all else on earth. Why?

So that He might come to have first place in everything.
